The CamSur Express swept their weekend games at home in the National Basketball League (NBL) Season 2 at the University of Nueva Caceres gym in Naga City.
The Express defeated the Quezon City Rising Stars, 95-84, last Saturday and the Bulacan Starks, 81-77, last Sunday. They improved their record to 5-1 following a four-game winning streak.
Jamil Bulawan was instrumental in both games, finishing with 14 points, 13 rebounds, and three blocks against the Rising Stars. He also had 17 points, 15 rebounds, and five assists in the Express’ victory over the Starks.
The Express are currently in third place behind league leaders Iriga City Oragons (4-0) and the Rizal Nationals (1-0).
In other results, the Rising Stars bounced back from Saturday’s loss to the Express with a 96-84 win over the One Cainta Titan last Sunday.
Enzo Battad flirted with a triple-double as he finished with 22 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists for the Rising Stars.
John Michael Cruz had 19 points, 10 rebounds, and two blocks as the Starks beat the Titan, 96-92, Saturday.
Jeremy Sarona set an NBL record of 45 points for the Titan against the Rising Stars, but in a losing cause. He also had 27 points in this league debut against the Starks.
