Isa Molde takes on bigger responsibility after being named U-23 skipper

University of the Philippines’ Isa Molde is having a breakout year in the UAAP, and it seems that 2019 is not done with pushing her onto the court.

As the Larong Volleyball sa Pilipinas Inc. announced their first-ever Under-23 pool, Molde has been tasked to be its skipper and lead 20 of the brightest young talents in the country.

The 21-year-old native of Cebu revealed that she had initially been reluctant to take on the role. Still, she eventually warmed to head coach Kungfu Reyes’ appointment.

said Molde, who has represented the country in other international youth tournaments.

Molde will pull from her experience as co-captain of the current UP team. In the U-23 pool, there are other Lady Maroons, namely Marist Layug, Rosie Rosier, and Justine Dorog.

Pero for sure naman ‘pag na-work namin yung team sa under-twenty three magiging mas madali na for me to adjust para sa kanila,” she thought.
