Coming off a straight-sets loss to PLDT, Choco Mucho vented its frustration on winless Nxled, 25-23, 25-19, 25-22, bouncing back in the 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference on Tuesday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
The Chameleons threatened to extend the match after taking a 21-19 lead late in the third set, but American import Marlee Smith had other plans.
Smith scored three of her points during the Flying Titans’ 6-1 run to close out the match, securing the win after one hour and 34 minutes.
“It was a good game talaga yung nangyari sa amin. Although, still adjusting talaga kami with the setter and Marlee pero unti-unti nagka-rhythm kami sa laro namin and nakuha namin iyong game,” said Choco Mucho head coach Dante Alinsunurin.
The victory improved the Flying Titans’ record to 2-1 in Pool A, placing them in solo third.
True to her promise after their loss to PLDT, Smith delivered a strong performance. She tallied 20 points on 18-of-41 attacks and added two blocks to lead Choco Mucho to victory.
Isa Molde contributed 11 points along with 14 excellent receptions, while Tia Andaya shone as the starting playmaker, recording 15 excellent sets. She also had eight points from five attacks and three blocks.
Thang Ponce also stood out with 17-of-21 excellent digs and 14-of-21 excellent receptions.
Choco Mucho will have a nine-day break before returning to action on October 31 at the Filoil EcoOil Centre in San Juan against the undefeated Farm Fresh.
Nxled, meanwhile, dropped to 0-3. Its next game will be against fellow winless squad Cignal this Saturday at the Ynares Center Montalban.
Spanish reinforcement Paola Martinez was the lone Chameleon in double digits, scoring 20 points on 18 spikes, one block, and one ace.
Lyann De Guzman added nine points, while Chiara Permentilla contributed eight points along with 13 excellent receptions.
