NorthPort cannot seem to get rid of the injury bug.
Sean Anthony suffered an injury during the Batang Pier’s PBA Philippine Cup match versus NLEX Wednesday.
Team manager Bonnie Tan disclosed to Tiebreaker Times that the initial diagnosis on the veteran forward is a strained hamstring.
The team has already sent a request to Dr. Raul Canlas, the PBA medical committee head in the bubble, for an MRI on Anthony.
The 34-year-old appeared shaken up with 31 seconds remaining in the opening period. He was subbed out and did not return to the game.
Anthony left the game with three assists, two rebounds, and two steals. His absence proved costly as the Batang Pier lost, 88-102.
This, indeed, is a huge blow for NorthPort, now that it has lost for the fourth time in as many games this conference.
The team is already undermanned, having brought just 13 players in the bubble. They could not use all 13, though, as they continue for Jonathan Grey’s clearance.
The Batang Pier is also dealing with the recurring foot injury of Kevin Ferrer, although he saw action versus NLEX and had 18 points.
