SBP begins prep for FIBA Asia Cup’s Clark bubble

With just two months before Pampanga hosts the third window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers, the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas has begun its preparations.

Officials from the federation conducted an ocular on both the Quest Hotel in Clark and the AUF Sports & Cultural Center in Angeles, Wednesday.

The officials were executive director Sonny Barrios, director of operations Butch Antonio, Coaches Academy head Jong Uichico, and Xander Gubat.

Pampanga will host two groups of the qualifiers – namely Group A of the Philippines, South Korea, Indonesia, and Thailand; and Group C of New Zealand, Australia, Guam, and Hong Kong.

The final window before the tournament proper will take place from February 17 to 22.

The setup of the bubble will be like the PBA’s, which is hotel-gym-hotel.

FIBA also has its own protocols which will be implemented together with the PBA guidelines.
