Injury forces Allyn Bulanadi to be Gilas cut

Gilas Pilipinas’ pool for the second window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers has been trimmed down to 14 players.

Allyn Bulanadi has been ruled out for the games taking place in Manama, Bahrain from November 27 to 30.

“Yes, he got injured eh,” said Gilas Pilipinas head coach Jong Uichico when asked by Power & Player if the team would bring Bulanadi to Bahrain.

The team leaves Inspire Sports Academy on Sunday, and will immediately head to the airport.

Last Tuesday, the 6-foot-2 swingman dislocated his right shoulder during Gilas’ practice.

With Bulanadi out, Gilas need only cut one more player. The national team will rotate 14 players when it faces Thailand on the 27th and the 30th; Korea on the 28th; and Indonesia on the 29th.

“We are sixteen right now, but Allyn got injured so we are now fifteen. Actually, fourteen lang ang dadalhin namin,” added Uichico.

The remaining players are Isaac Go, the Nieto twins, Rey Suerte, Jaydee Tungcab, the Gomez de Liaño brothers, Dwight Ramos, Kobe Paras, Justine Baltazar, Dave Ildefonso, Angelo Kouame, William Navarro, Calvin Oftana, and Kemark Carino.

Kouame’s naturalization is still being processed.
