Aduke Ogunsanya, hailing from Dumangas, Iloilo, expressed her utmost gratitude to her fellow Ilonggos after they swarmed the University of San Agustin Gymnasium to support the PVL on Tour last Saturday.
Despite the humid atmosphere inside the venue due to the lack of air conditioning, the fans waved their fans to combat the heat.
Moreover, they still cheered wholeheartedly for Choco Mucho in its straight-sets victory over Chery Tiggo.
“Siyempre, thankful talaga kami sa mga fans kasi kahit saan kami naroroon, nandiyan ‘yung suporta,” said Ogunsanya, who received a plaque of recognition after the first match alongside fellow Ilonggas Cess Robles, Jennifer Nierva, and Shaya Adorador of the Crossovers.
“Hindi naman kami nawawalan ng respeto sa binibigay nilang suporta sa amin, kaya thankful kami. Sana na maipakita namin ‘yung kahalagahan ng suporta na ‘yun.”
The former La Salle standout, who only played in the third set of the contest, contributed four points to help Choco Mucho close out Chery Tiggo in three sets, 25-16, 25-19, 25-23.
The team also extended their winning streak to 10 games heading into the semifinals of the Second All-Filipino Conference.
Ogunsanya mentioned that carrying a massive 10-game winning streak into the playoffs will be a huge boost for the Flying Titans. After all, this marks their first appearance in the semifinals since the 2022 Open Conference.
“Siyempre, it’s a huge booster for us since papunta na kaming sa semis, at the same time, mataas ‘yung morale namin sana magtuloy-tuloy ‘yung ganoong galaw,” said the Fil-Nigerian middle blocker.
“Hindi kami nakukuntento kasi marami pa kaming kailangang i-polish, pero thankful ako sa panalong ito at thankful ako na nag-contribute ‘yung mga pinasok sa loob.”
