Antonio Hester is making his way back to the PBA.
The American cager has officially replaced Erik McCree as Magnolia’s import for the Governors’ Cup, head coach Chito Victolero confirmed to Tiebreaker Times.
The switch comes after the Hotshots absorbed their third loss in as many outings following a close 100-98 decision to San Miguel Beer last Sunday.
Hester is expected to make his debut on Friday, Feb. 10, against Phoenix Super LPG at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, according to Victolero.
It will be the 32-year-old forward’s second tour of duty in Asia’s first pro league, previously reinforcing Terrafirma in last season’s Governors’ Cup.
He had 28.3 points, 12.6 rebounds, 3.2 assists, and 1.6 steals with the Dyip.
Hester is coming off a stint with Zamboanga in the ABL Invitationals, where he put up 24.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists, and 2.0 steals in 10 games.
That included a 36-point, 13-rebound to lead the Valientes to an 84-80 win over Bangkok in Kuala Lumpur Monday night for a graceful exit.
