Galeries Tower parts ways with Lerma Giron after two years

Galeries Tower has parted ways with head coach Lerma Giron after nearly two years at the helm.

The Highrisers announced the move Friday afternoon, closing Giron’s tenure that began when the team debuted in the Premier Volleyball League in 2023.

“Thank you, Coach Lerma Gómez Giron,” the team wrote in a Facebook post.

“Your time with the Highrisers has been filled with lessons, discipline, and passion that helped shape us into a stronger team. We’re grateful for the dedication you poured into every training session, every game, and every player who wore the jersey,” the statement continued.

Giron departs with a 6-44 win-loss record, including the team’s campaign in the recently concluded PVL On Tour.

Despite the challenges, the former Adamson University chief tactician made a lasting impact, guiding Galeries to its first-ever quarterfinals appearance in the 2024–25 PVL All-Filipino Conference.

The Highrisers pulled off a stunning upset of Cignal in the qualifying round before falling to Akari in a closely contested quarterfinal series.

“As we move forward into a new chapter, we carry the values and work ethic you instilled in us. This isn’t goodbye—it’s a heartfelt thank you for being part of our journey.”
