With 3:12 left to play in the Emilio Aguinaldo College’s game against the San Beda Red Lions, floor general Francis Munsayac fell to the floor squirming in pain as he held on to his right foot. He was bringing down the ball when he accidentally stepped on defender Javee Mocon’s foot twisting his ankle in the half court area.
Nag-sorry [naman] si Mocon,” recalled Munsayac, who finished the game with 21 points on 8-for-14 shooting.
And San Beda head coach Boyet Fernandez is hoping that Munsayac’s injury is not serious.
“We’re happy we got this win but I hope that Francis recovers soon. He gave us a headache, he scored 21 points. I know he’s a really good player,” Fernandez shared after the game.
EAC eventually fell to the defending champions, 69-81, dropping their slate to 1-2. The loss, their second straight, frustrated the fifth-year guard, saying to his teammates that they badly need to break out of the funk they are in.
Munsayac hopes that he will still be able to play on their next game versus Mapua on Tuesday 12nn.
“Sprain ‘to.
