Fritz Biagtan left the crowd at the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand in awe once again.
The 28-year-old standout from DasmariƱas, Cavite authored the perfect follow-up victory to his promotional debut eight months ago by scoring an emphatic victory at the expense of Indian opponent Deepak Bhardwaj in a flyweight bout at ONE Friday Fights 38 tonight.
Biagtan wasted no time once the opening bell rang, landing two hard punches that sent a message to Bhardwaj.
However, Bhardwaj displayed his resilience by executing a remarkable takedown, lifting Biagtan high into the air and slamming him down with authority.
Despite being taken down, Biagtan’s fighting spirit was unwavering. He swiftly regained his footing and established a solid base, refusing to allow Bhardwaj to take the action to the grappling department.
In a move that left the audience in sheer amazement, “Kid Tornado” delivered a thunderous knee strike directly to Bhardwaj’s midsection. The impact was so brutal that the Indian’s facial expression immediately reflected the excruciating pain he was enduring.
Stunned by the strike, Bhardwaj found himself retreating towards the ropes, struggling to regain his composure. Sensing the opportunity to strike, Biagtan unleashed two more powerful punches. The force behind these punches was so intense that it sent the Bali MMA representative’s mouthguard flying through the air.
With Bhardwaj clearly in a compromised state, the referee had no choice but to step in and halt the contest at the 1:13 mark of the first round, awarding the technical knockout win to Biagtan.
The rousing performance allowed Biagtan to improve his professional record to 7-1. In addition, he was rewarded with a ąøæ350,000 ($10,000) bonus.
On the other hand, Bhardwaj tasted his first career defeat, dropping to a 2-1 slate.
