Five PWNFT members continue pro careers overseas with new clubs


Quinley Quezada, Sarina Bolden, Jessica Miclat, Cathrine Graversen, and Eva Madarang of the Philippine women’s national football team will now ply their trade with new teams in Europe and Asia. 

Quezada and Bolden recently cleared quarantine in Japan to join their respective clubs ahead of the inaugural season of the professional WE League. The tournament kicks off next week.

Quezada is part of the squad for JEF United Chiba, while Bolden was officially announced last Friday by Chifure AS Elfen Saitama. Quezada, a 24-year old striker from California, previously featured on Legends FC and Future FC in the American WPSL and UPSL.

The 25-year old Bolden – also striker from California – had previous stints with Sandvikens IF in Sweden and the SF Nighthawks in the American WPSL.

Bolden’s Chifure AS Elfen will open their season against Sanfrecce Hiroshima Regina on September 12. Meanwhile, the opener for Quezada’s JEF United Chiba comes against Bolden and her team on September 20.

Meanwhile, Jessica Miclat inked a new contract last week with Aris Limassol, a club in Cyprus’ top division for women’s football Cypriot First Division.

Earlier this year, the 22-year-old California-based midfielder had a brief spell with Danish side AaB Kvinder.

Joining Miclat in Cyprus is Cathrine Graversen, now with Nea Salamis.

Similar to Miclat, the 23-year old Denmark-based defender came from the Danish league via B.93 Pigefodbold. Press also linked her with ASD Calcio Pomigliano in Italy’s Serie B for the majority of the year.

Miclat and Graversen’s Cypriot season begins on September 26. Miclat’s Aris Limassol faces Lefkothea, while Graversen’s Nea Salamis take on Geroskipou.

Eva Madarang has also made a switch from Italy to Spain. The 23-year old California-based midfielder is now with Club Deportivo Pozoalbense, a second division club in the Spanish Reto Iberdrola prior to the move,

Madarang came off a productive season with Roma Calcio Femminile, where she scored an important goal in the final game. CD Pozoalbense’s season began yesterday with a 1-1 draw to CP Cacereño.
