Filipinas to wear adidas for FIFA WWC

The Philippine Women’s National Football Team will compete on the global stage wearing apparel from one of the sport’s most iconic brands.

The Filipinas and Adidas announced a landmark partnership on Thursday that will see the former wear the latter’s kits in the upcoming 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The German brand is a mainstay in world football. It is the current kit provider for the Argentinian men’s national team, which recently won the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar a few months ago.

Locally, Adidas sponsored the Philippine Azkals in the past back in 1996 to 2006. The brand also supported top college programs such as Ateneo de Manila University, De La Salle University, and San Beda University back in the early 2000s.

While wearing the Adidas kits, the Filipinas will take on Switzerland, host nation New Zealand, and Norway in the group stage of the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

The Adidas kits will debut when the Filipinas go up against Wales, Scotland, and Iceland in this month’s Pinatar Cup.
