After failing to make weight in his homecoming, 24 year old Fil-Kiwi Mark Abelardo returns to the terrordome for PXC 54.
Abelardo (12-4) was scheduled to face Korean prospect Han Bin Park last April during PXC 53. However, Abelardo was two pounds over the bantamweight limit during the weigh-ins that forced Pacific Xtreme Combat officials to scrap the bout much to the dismay of his Filipino fans.
“The Korean call it off,” PXC matchmaker Robert San Diego told Rappler.com.
Looking to string together a win streak, Abelardo will take on another Korean prospect, Jung Hyun Ahn (4-2) on Friday, July 8 during PXC’s 54th major event. The bout is set to take place at the UOG Calvo Field House in Guam.
This will be fifth bout in the Guam-based organization, going 3-1. In his last bout, the 24 year old was able to return to the win column with a stoppage win against Roman Alvarez.
