Filipino-American swingman Jalen Green made sure to have a debut to remember for Team USA during the 2018 FIBA Under-17 World Cup, Sunday morning (Manila time).
The 6-foot-5 cager – who is ranked as the top two recruit in the class of 2020 – threw down a highlight alley-oop play during USA’s 115-37 demolition of China in Sante Fe, Argentina.
Off a steal, Green ran like a gazelle to support floor general Isaiah Stewart. Stewart then threw a one-handed lob, which Green caught midair for the emphatic slam.
Green finished the game with 11 points on 5-of-9 shooting, four rebounds, and two steals in just 19 minutes of action.
Team USA are the defending champions of the tournament.
Given this, Green – who played for Fil-Am Sports USA during the 2018 NBTC National Finals – will no longer be eligible to play for Gilas Pilipinas as a local.
