Far Eastern University-Diliman shoots for the remaining Finals berth as it tangles with Adamson University in the UAAP Season 82 High School Boys’ Basketball Stepladder semifinals at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
The twice-to-beat Baby Tamaraws and the fourth-ranked Baby Falcons collide at 3 p.m.
A win will put FEU in a title showdown with undefeated Nazareth School of National University.
“Sa step-ladder kasi, iyan ang pinakamasarap sa UAAP, yung makapasok ka sa semifinals. Pero iyan ang pinakamahirap na manalo sa step-ladder,” said Baby Tamaraws coach Allan Albano.
“Message sa amin yung game namin (against the Bullpups) na hindi kami puwedeng mag-relax. So kailangan, pagbutihan at paghandaan namin ang Adamson,” he added.
The Baby Falcons have yet to win against the Baby Tamaraws this season, but the step-ladder is a different story.
Adamson University overcame a slow start to eliminate No. 3 Ateneo, 84-75, last Feb. 12, which turned out to be the last game before the league postponed all of its sports events due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.
Cholo Anonuevo, who recently committed to play for FEU’s men’s basketball program, will spearhead the Baby Tamaraws.
An Adamson University win will force the second step-ladder phase to a sudden-death game on Monday at the Blue Eagle Gym.
Game 1 of the best-of-three championship series is on March 6 at the Filoil Flying V Centre.
