Falcons AP.Bren bounces back, deals Aurora first-ever MPL PH loss

Falcons AP.Bren recovered from last week’s upset loss to Smart Omega by decisively defeating the previously undefeated Aurora, 2-0, in Week 2 of MPL Philippines Season 14 on Saturday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati City.

The reigning M-series world champions – who had suffered a surprise loss in their previous match – came into this game with a renewed sense of urgency.

Their dominant performance not only brought them back into the win column but also put them within one win of breaking into the top half of the standings.

Assistant coach Rober “Trebor” Sanchez credited the team’s success to meticulous preparation and strategic play, particularly in countering Aurora’s hero picks.

“Na-outdraft namin sila. Napaghandaan namin nang maayos,” explained Trebor.

The match showcased a vintage performance from FCAP, with Michael “KyleTzy” Sayson leading the charge on Roger.

KyleTzy’s impressive 4-0-1 KDA helped FCAP build a substantial 12.7k net worth lead by the 14th minute.

Although Aurora fought back with a 3-2 exchange, highlighted by a double kill from Jan “Domeng” Delmundo on Moskov, FCAP maintained their composure.

The two-time MPL PH champions shrugged off this setback as David “FlapTzy” Canon made a crucial impact with a double kill late in the 15th minute, securing the first game 1-0.

In Game 2, Rowgien “Owgwen” Unigo delivered an exceptional performance on Hylos, going unkillable and earning MVP honors with a 3-0-7 KDA in 17 minutes of play. His outstanding effort ensured a clean sweep for FCAP.

With the victory in hand, FCAP has little time to celebrate. They will face winless Blacklist International in their next match on August 25, aiming for their second consecutive win.
