Mikey Williams will be on TNT’s injury reserve list for the time being.
This was the decision made by the Chot Reyes-mentored Tropang GIGA as the fourth overall pick in the 2021 PBA Rookie Draft has yet to join the team since being drafted last March.
Williams, a 6-foot-1 guard, only arrived in the country early Wednesday.
With this, Ping Exciminiano and Gryann Mendoza have been recalled by TNT to complete their 15-man lineup for the 2021 PBA Philippine Cup.
Exciminiano and Mendoza played spectacularly for Coach Chot’s brother Mike in the 2021 Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup as the duo led KCS Computer Specialist to the top of the Visayas Leg.
Composing the 15-man 5-on-5 team of TNT are Jayson Castro, Roger Pogoy, Troy Rosario, Kelly Williams, Ryan Reyes, JP Erram, Jay Washington, Dave Marcelo, Chris Javier, Kib Montalbo, Jjay Alejandro, and Brian Heruela.
Those who were left out from TNT’s bubble team, namely Almond Vosotros, Lervin Flores, and Samboy De Leon are set to join Jeremiah Gray in the team’s 3×3 team.
TNT 5-on-5 begins its Philippine Cup campaign on Saturday against Terra Firma.
