Ella Fajardo transfers from Fairleigh to Iona

Ella Fajardo is moving from New Jersey to the bright lights of New York.

The 5-foot-5 Gilas Women mainstay announced on Wednesday that she is tranferring from Fairleigh Dickinson to Iona.

“Thank you, Jesus, for your steadfast love, promises, and miracles! Even though I’m away from home, my Titan Management Group fam was able to create an amazing signing day set up for me, making this process and decision the best experience I could have ever imagined,” she expressed.

“With that being said, I am officially proud to announce that I will be playing basketball at Iona University for the next three years of my college career. Go Gaels!”

Fajardo, 20, committed to Fairleigh in 2020.

She saw significant minutes in her sophomore year, averaging 7.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 32 games played.

The Knights finished the season with a 24-8 overall record — 14-2 in the NEC conference.

The Gaels, meanwhile, topped the MAA conference with an 18-2 record — 26-7 overall.

Fajardo will have to redshirt for one year.
