After nine months, Eduard Folayang will finally re-enter the ONE Circle.
The former ONE Lightweight Champion restarts his journey back to the top of the division when he faces Australian standout Antonio Caruso in a three-round affair on Friday, October 30, during ONE: Inside The Matrix which will be held in Singapore Indoor Stadium.
ONE Chairman Chatri Sityodtong announced the development Tuesday morning.
Folayang, 35, suffered a tough split decision against Pieter Buist in his last outing back on January 31.
The Team Lakay standout has lost three of his last four bouts, falling to 22-9. His last win came against Tsogookhuu Amarsanaa last November 8.
Team Lakay has resumed its training in Baguio, as the province has been under Modified General Community Quarantine for the past few months.
Just like Folayang, Caruso, 29, is coming off a decision loss to Buist last October 25, 2019. Prior to this, he was 7-0.
Inside The Matrix will mark ONE’s return to the Lion City since the COVID-19 pandemic broke out last February.
With this, the card will be uber-stacked headlined by four world title bouts.
Aung La N Sang (26-10) will defend the Middleweight World title against Reinier De Riddler (12-0). The much-awaited showdown between Lightweight king Christian Lee (13-3) and Iuri Lapicus (14-0) will also take place in the event.
Martin Nguyen (13-3) returns after a long lay-off as well, defending the Featherweight belt against Thanh Le (11-2). Meanwhile, Xiong Jingnan (14-2) looks to continue her dominion over the strawweight division when she takes on Tiffany Teo (9-1).
