It looks like the hate mob finally made its way to Bren Esports.
On Monday night, Bren Esports coach Francis “Duckeyyy” Glindro revealed that the team has been receiving threats from fans.
“I have been receiving tons of hate messages, and some of them are threats directed to me and my players,” said Duckeyyy in a Facebook post.
Aside from the threats, a ton of hate messages also bombarded the players’ inbox – forcing Duckeyyy to take it all out on social media.
“Sure, you’re entitled to them, but when push comes to shove, I’ll take each one of you if you ever threaten my players again,” said the M2 World Champion coach.
Bren Esports initially won four consecutive games to revive its playoff dreams. But it capped off the sixth week with a deflating 0-2 loss at the hands of their good friends in Omega Esports.
The reigning world champions is currently on the brink of elimination at the seventh spot with 14 points through a 5-7 record.
ONIC PH encountered a similar situation almost two weeks ago in light of the ‘bug issue’ that marred their 2-1 win against Omega Esports.
Just like Bren Esports, players from ONIC PH, and their respective families, received threats fans.
Bren Esports will take on ECHO at 4:00 PM on Saturday as they make a last-ditch attempt to capture a playoff slot.
