If it was up to Bren Esports head coach Francis “Duckey” Glindro, he would’ve wanted MPL Philippines Season 11 to mirror MPL Indonesia’s schedule to give his team additional time to prepare for the 2023 Southeast Asian Games.
“I would’ve hoped na same kami ng schedule with MPL Indonesia because it actually gives us a leeway.
“Like training and stuff, identifying those that we’re lacking and support on them,” he said.
MPL ID’s Season 11 will only run for six weeks, with the final regular season game set to be played on March 26. MPL PH on the other hand is set to run until April 16.
“Meron na actually schedule yung paglipad namin. I wouldn’t say it here because gusto kong Sibol yung mag-announce. It’s going to be really really clutch,” Duckey continued.
“So we have to work, I could say, starting next month. The entire month, actually pwede na rin namin istart by next week. Then it would be very very clutch, looking at the schedule.”
Bren Esports (6-1) is currently leading the league courtesy of a six-game winning streak to conclude the first half of the season on top with 18pts.
With the SEA Games slated May 5 to 23, Duckey and the rest of Bren will have to wear two hats. They compete for the MPL PH title and will also defend the Philippines’ gold medal in the biannual meet weeks after the Season 11 playoffs.
