The Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League is set to expand its reach this December, holding the first two games of its Sixth Season National Finals in Dubai, UAE.
This marks a unique opportunity for the North and South Division champions to compete in front of overseas Filipino fans in the Middle East.
Game One is scheduled for December 1 and Game Two on December 3, both to be held at the prestigious Al Nasr Club’s Rashid Bin Hamdan Indoor Hall.
Tip-off will be at 7 p.m. in Dubai (11 p.m. Philippine time).
The series will then shift to the Philippines for Game Three, with the higher-ranked team enjoying home-court advantage, while Games Four and Five, if necessary, will also take place at home.
MPBL Founder and CEO Manny Pacquiao also will take part in a special exhibition match, where he will face an all-star selection from Dubai.
MPBL Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, alongside other league officials and members of both division champions, will join him in the Dubai festivities.
The Dubai leg of the finals is organized by DJMC, the same team behind the 2019 MPBL Dubai Invasion that featured games between Batangas, Davao Occidental, and Imus at the Hamdan Sports Complex.
In that event, Pacquiao also played in exhibition matches.
