Desiderio out of PBA bubble due to injury as Belo also misses SMB game

Blackwater Elite were short-handed when they took on San Miguel in the first-ever morning game of the PBA.

Two key cogs of the Elite are out due to respective injuries.

A grave leg muscle sprain has forced guard Paul Desiderio to pack his bags and leave the Smart Clark Giga City early this week, according to team management. The guard out of UP sustained the injury from Blackwater’s game vs Alaska last October 20.

Desiderio averaged 5.0 points and 3.6 rebounds in 13 minutes of action per game.

Blackwater decided to bring Desiderio home, since the recovery has been taking longer than expected. The Elite play six games in nine days.

Meanwhile, Mac Belo also missed the tilt due to a minor injury but is expected to play against Meralco tomorrow. He has been averaging 12.0 points and 5.0 boards per game.

Marion Magat is also nursing an injury, but played against the Beermen.
