One of the best talents in the women’s division from the Philippines will finally make her ONE Championship debut.
The unbeaten Denice “The Menace Fairtex” Zamboanga makes her debut at ONE: Mark of Greatness when she takes on hometown hero Jihin “Shadow Cat” Radzuan at the Axiata Arena in Kuala, Lumpur, Malaysia on December 6.
“[I am] really grateful to be part of the best organization in the world. I’m very excited to represent my own country. This is a big opportunity for me, fighting against a top contender in my division, especially [in] my debut fight,” the 5-0 athlete said.
“I’m working very hard for this fight. I want to start my ONE Championship journey with a win.”
Looking to spoil her debut is the 20-year-old Radzuan, whom many feel is the future of Malaysian mixed martial arts.
Acknowledging Radzuan’s well-roundedness, “The Menace Fairtex” is looking for holes in her foe’s arsenal — and she may have found one.
The Filipina will be looking to control the match through her wrestling, saying that is where she holds an advantage over the Johor Bahru native.
“She’s well-rounded so I need to be careful with her striking and ground game as well. I don’t see any weaknesses from her except for her wrestling. I guess my wrestling is better than hers,” Zamboanga said.
“I know she’s a strong fighter, and she’s also hungry to end [the year] with a win, but I will do everything so I can keep up with whatever she’ll throw in our fight.”
Knowing that opportunities like this do not come often, Zamboanga plans to grab it by the horns and never let it go. But she can only do that with a strong performance against Radzuan.
“I don’t have any plans of wasting this magnificent opportunity ONE Championship has given me,” Zamboanga said.
“This match is for everyone who believes in me. I dedicate this to God, family, friends, and supporters.”
