Denden Lazaro to join Petron

After two years, Denden Lazaro will no longer be sporting Cocolife’s green and blue.

The three-year pro is set to sign with the Petron Blaze Spikers for the 2019 season of the Philippine Superliga.

The development was confirmed by team manager Joshua Ylaya.

“Denden is more than just a teammate – she’s a dear friend and part of our family,” said Ylaya, who tapped collegiate rivals Lazaro and Michele Gumabao as cornerstones of the Asset Managers.

“Denden is a person of high character and a consummate pro. She proved that she could still play at a high level after helping us reach the semifinals in the Grand Prix last year. So, with a heavy heart, we announce her transfer to a new club and we wish her well in her quest for her first PSL crown.”

For their part, Cocolife made moves of their own, signing Amy Ahomiro away from PVL club Banko Perlas Spikers and Bang Pineda from Generika-Ayala
