Dave “Kintas” Bangguigui suffered his first loss in ONE Championship as he was decimated by Sanzhar “Uzbek Tiger” Zakirov at ONE Friday Fights 28 held on Friday at Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
Zakirov’s debut was marked by a methodical evisceration, as he dominated the Fight Corps MMA standout throughout the fight, ultimately achieving an emphatic third-round technical knockout victory.
Right from the start, Zakirov refused to give an inch to Bangguigui, aggressively pursuing takedowns and consistently delivering brutal punches and elbow strikes for all three rounds. Referee Muhamad Sulaiman mercifully called an end to the match at the 4:11 mark.
Bangguigui fought primarily for survival, struggling to mount an offense as he experienced his first defeat in ONE Championship after three impressive wins. His record dropped to 9-2, while the ONE Warrior Series stud witnessed the end of his impressive eight-fight winning streak.
Zakirov’s performance was a true master class, demonstrating a complete range of skills, from his suffocating ground game to his lethal striking. This showcased his arrival in the strawweight division, sending a powerful message that a new force has emerged.
With an improved record of 5-0, Zakirov has officially announced his presence in The Home of Martial Arts.
