Dave Bangguigui slated for ONE Championship debut on Friday Fights 14

Dave Bangguigui is set to become the latest Filipino mixed martial artist to join officially the stacked roster of ONE Championship.

The 26-year-old standout from La Trinidad, Benguet, will make his promotional debut on April 28 on the undercard of ONE Friday Fights 14, that premiers from the legendary Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

The Fight Corps MMA representative holds a professional record of 8-1, with four victories by way of knockout and two via submission.

He spent the majority of his career in Alvin Aguilar’s URCC, where he fought and won over the likes of Ariel Oliveros, Joevincent So, and Solomon Dultra in an exciting fashion.

Bangguigui also plied his trade in Rich Franklin’s ONE Warrior Series, where he thwarted India’s Susovan Ghosh by second-round knockout in June 2017. He then made Brazil’s Alber Correia tap out to a second-round rear-naked choke two months later.

Standing in his way at ONE Friday Fights 14 is Brazilian spitfire and fellow debutant Marcus Paulo Amaral, a 10-year veteran who owns a 16-3 standing in the sport with five wins by submission and three via knockout.

The bout will be contested at strawweight with three five-minute rounds.

Amaral is riding high on a three-bout winning streak and has been a staple in the Brazilian fighting circuit. Moreover, “Marcote” has only fought once outside his home country when he faced Ryo Hatta in an August 2018 losing effort under the Japan-based Pancrase banner.

On his second overseas trip, Amaral lures a sophisticated opponent in Bangguigui, who has been a proven finisher with his well-rounded fighting style.
