Converge has tapped 6-foot-8 Cheick Diallo for the 2024-25 PBA Commissioner’s Cup, which is set to kick off on November 27.
FiberXers assistant coach Charles Tiu made the announcement of Diallo’s signing in an X post on Wednesday.
Diallo was selected 33rd overall in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Los Angeles Clippers and then subsequently traded to the New Orleans Pelicans.
During his stint in the NBA, Diallo played with the Pelicans and Phoenix Suns, showcasing his skill set. He later spent time with G League affiliates Austin Spurs, Long Island Nets, and Greensboro Swarm.
After his initial NBA run, Diallo transitioned to Europe, where he played in Russia and Spain.
His career journey led him back to the NBA system briefly, as he joined the Motor City Cruise in the G League, ultimately earning a promotion to the Detroit Pistons.
Following this, Diallo went back overseas, spending two seasons in the B.League with the Kyoto Hannaryz, where he was teammates with former Phoenix Fuel Master Matthew Wright.
Most recently, he suited up for Puerto Rican squad Osos de Manati.
