Kris Rosales is in for a PBA return after signing a one-year deal with NLEX ahead of the season-ending Governors’ Cup, the team announced Tuesday.
The Fil-Am guard has finally found himself a new home after Rain or Shine let him go back in February, causing him to miss the Philippine Cup.
He actually saw action in the Clark bubble last year and averaged 5.45 points and 3.91 rebounds in 19 minutes. The Elasto Painters, though, did not renew him.
The signing comes a day after the Road Warriors traded Mike Ayonayon and Will McAloney to Blackwater for Marion Magat and a 2023 second-round pick.
Turning 31 in December, Rosales is a welcome addition for head coach Yeng Guiao’s backcourt rotation, led by Kevin Alas and Jericho Cruz.
The decorated mentor will have himself a bevy of guards to work with. He also has Philip Paniamogan and Bong Galanza at his disposal.
The 6-foot gunslinger brings with him the experience he garnered playing for TNT and Rain or Shine since entering the league in 2015.
Picked 19th overall by Barako Bull but left unsigned, Rosales had also played internationally with Singapore in the ASEAN Basketball League.
