2019 FIBA World Cup Qualifiers

Complete pool attends Gilas practice before lineup reveal

All players invited by coach Yeng Guiao and the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas for the 2018 FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers were present on Monday evening, as Gilas Pilipinas wasted no time hitting the ground running.

San Miguel Beermen guards Alex Cabagnot and Marcio Lassiter; Magnolia Hotshots slotman Ian Sangalang, and Barangay Ginebra stars Scottie Thompson and Greg Slaughter suited up in the practice at the Meralco Gym.

The three joined Gabe Norwood, Beau Belga, Asi Taulava, Paul Lee, Raymond Almazan, Poy Erram, Stanley Pringle, and Christian Standhardinger, who were all fresh from a fifth-place finish in the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.

Also in attendance are Gilas Elite’s Allein Maliksi, Matthew Wright, and Japeth Aguilar.

Wright and Aguilar are only serving one-game suspensions, so they will be available for Gilas’ home game versus Qatar on September 17.

Yeng Guiao will unveil the final pool for the first window in the second round of the Qualifiers after practice.

Gilas will go on the road on September 13 to take on Iran.
