Banking on its objectives-based approach, ONIC PH decimated TNC, 2-0, for its fourth-straight win in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Eight, Sunday evening.
The win placed ONIC PH back at the top spot with a league-best 11 points through an immaculate 4-0 standing.
Leaning on Jaylord “Hate” Gonzales’ Paquito, ONIC PH showed great patience and discipline in the 10-5 Game One win over TNC for the 1-0 lead.
After taking down the Lord and wiping all but one of TNC’s inhibitor turrets, the men in yellow kept their lead by playing safe before eventually securing the Luminous Lord in the 14:31-minute mark to set up the game-clinching siege.
Hate was named the SMART 5G MVP with a clean 4-0-3 kill-death-assist slate in the 17:31-minute match.
Come Game Two, the two-time MPL second placer used the same approach against TNC which resulted in a low-scoring, 7-2 victory.
ONIC PH pounced on every objective in the match right at the get-go in what could be one of the cleanest matches in MPL history.
Ian “Beemo” Sergio (Grock) led the way in the Game Two win with a game-high six assists along with a death in the 12:31-minute match.
“Siguro ano, nung bago pa lang kami nag build lang kami ng friendship tapos nag bond lang po nang nag bond,” said Beemo after the win.
TNC remained at the fourth spot with six points and a 2-2 win-loss slate.
ONIC PH will take on RSG PH next on Saturday at 4:00 PM while TNC looks to bounce back against Omega Esports on Sunday at 4:00 PM.
