Chooks-to-Go to give P500K to VisMin-Mindanao champ

PAGADIAN, ZAMBOANGA DEL SUR — Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas owner Ronald Mascariñas has just sweetened the pot for the Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup Mindanao Finals prior to the all-important Game Two.

Besides the bragging rights of being the best in Mindanao, the eventual champions between Jumbo Plastic-Basilan and Petra Cement-Roxas will get a whopping P500,000 prize.

Not to go home empty-handed is the runner-up with P100,000.

The Peace Riders will go for the crown today, 6 pm here at the Pagadian City Gymnasium, while the Vanguards look for an equalizer.

“Just like in the Visayas Leg of the tournament, we will be awarding the winner of the Mindanao Leg with P500,000 while the runners-up will get P100,000,” said Mascariñas, who has been an avid supporter of Philippine sports.

We are hoping that this will inspire our two finalists in Basilan and Roxas more and hopefully this will help them with their expenses. This is our way of giving back to the two teams for inspiring our country through their games and talents,” he added.

Basilan moved on the verge of the championship and completing a leg sweep after an 81-69 Game One victory yesterday.

League COO Rocky Chan made the announcement prior to the match.

“Ang nag-iisang Manok ng Bayan hindi tayo pinababayaan. Kakatawag lang po sa akin ni Boss Ronald Mascariñas kanina and as expected may cash prize tayo para sa dalawang koponan,” said Chan.

Mascariñas did the same thing back in the Visayas Leg, where titlist KCS Conputer Specialist owner Ricky Verdida used the P500,000 prize fund to alleviate the team’s expenses.

MJAS Zenith-Talisay bagged the P100,000 reward for being the bridesmaid.

To cap off his announcement, Chan teased everyone for what’s to come in the Southern Finals.

“Abangan niyo ang surpresang handog ng Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas VisMin Super Cup sa Southern Finals.”
