Chooks-to-Go/MPBL opens voting for 2020 All-Star Game

With the elimination phase coming to a close, the online voting for the 2019-20 Chooks-to-Go/MPBL Lakan Cup All-Star Game starters has officially opened, the league announced on Thursday.

The starting five for the North and South All-Stars must consist of two guards, two forwards, and a center. Fans are only allowed to vote one player from each team. Thus, picking two players from a single team will invalidate the ballot.

To vote, fans must like the MPBL Facebook page – Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. Then, a pinned post with the link of google forms can be seen wherein people can submit their selections. Lastly, for the vote to be validated, fans must share on their Facebook accounts the said post.

Voting will be open until January 31.

The Chooks-to-Go/MPBL All-Star Game will take place on February 13, Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay.

Fans who have submitted their votes will have the chance to win all-star game tickets while a brand new pick-up truck and two motorcycles will also be raffled on the day of the event.

Head coaches from the top teams of the North and South divisions will be calling the shots for the All-Star Game.

Currently in the running for the North coaching spot are Randy Alcantara (San Juan-Go-for-Gold), Tino Pinat (Manila-Frontrow), and Beaujing Acot (Makati-Super Crunch) while Don Dulay (Davao-Cocolife) and Chris Gavina (Bacoor) are the candidates for the South.

The two mentors will be selecting the rest of the squad to complete the rosters.

In last year’s edition of the event, Jeff Viernes and Gerald Anderson towed the South All-Stars to a 109-84 victory over the Chris Bitoon-led North All-Stars.
