After hearing that the Cebu Schools Athletic Foundation, Inc. (CESAFI) has cancelled its 20th season this year due to the on-going coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, a sports patron immediately gave a helping hand to the schools affected by it.
Bounty Agro Ventures Inc., through its president Ronald Mascariñas, sent 5,000 pieces of dressed chicken to CESAFI which was distributed to all member schools — namely Cebu Eastern College, Cebu Institute of Technology – University, Don Bosco Technical College, Southwestern University PHINMA, University of Cebu, University of Cebu – Lapu-Lapu & Mandaue Campus, University of San Carlos, University of San Jose–Recoletos, University of Southern Philippines Foundation, University of the Visayas, and Sacred Heart School – Ateneo de Cebu.
Also receiving chickens were CESAFI officials, referees, coaches, ballboys, security guards, utility teams, and venue personnel.
“We admire the efforts of CESAFI management in looking after the welfare of athletes and officials during this most difficult time. They are truly an inspiration,” said Mascariñas, who has always made sure that the south has a representation in his league Chooks-to-Go Pilipinas 3×3.
On behalf of the entire CESAFI family, commissioner Felix Tiukinhoy expressed his gratitude to BAVI for giving a helping hand to his league.
“The CESAFI is truly grateful and blessed at this pleasant surprise from Mr. Ronald Mascariñas. We are thankful for his generosity,” said Tiukinhoy.
The CESAFI is looking to resume its games in 2021.
