Carlos Alvarez aims for third-straight win under ONE Friday Fights

Carlos Alvarez, a promising talent from Team Lakay, stands at the precipice of stardom.

The 24-year-old Baguio City native has showcased his potential to make waves in the world of mixed martial arts.

With a pristine record of 3-0 and a 100-percent finishing rate, Alvarez looks to return to action on October 6th, looking to extend his impressive winning streak.

His next challenge will come in the form of Thai-French standout Title Chai on the undercard of ONE Friday Fights 36. The match takes place at the world-renowned Lumpinee Boxing Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.

This matchup will be contested in a three-round featherweight encounter.

2023 has unquestionably been a breakout year for “The Limitless,” notching two impressive victories under the ONE Friday Fights banner.

Alvarez made a dazzling promotional debut, securing a second-round technical knockout victory over Reza Abasi last April.

This initial triumph was followed by a dominating performance this past July, where he forced Sadegh Ghasemi to tap out with a D’arce choke in the second round.

With such a strong start to his ONE Championship tenure, Alvarez has his sights set on maintaining his momentum and taking a step closer to competing at the monthly premium live event hosted by the organization.

To do so, he must overcome the stern test presented by Chai, a newcomer with a remarkable standing of 3-1.

Moreover, Chai is renowned for his powerful striking, a skill he’s honed under the tutelage of retired Muay Thai savant Mehdi Zatout

For Alvarez, this represents more than just another step in his promising career; it’s a pivotal moment.

A third consecutive win as part of the ONE Friday Fights brand could potentially punch his ticket to joining the elite on the main roster.

Alvarez’s in-ring clash with Chai happens the night before former teammate Joshua Pacio takes on Russia’s Mansur Malachiev in a pivotal strawweight showdown at ONE Fight Night 15.
