College of Saint Benilde’s Carlo Lim pulled off the biggest win in the opening weekend of College Center for Esports’ exhibition matches after a 2-1 reverse sweep of San Beda University’s Damie Cuntapay last August 15.
Cuntapay’s Lesley lorded over Lim’s Hayabusa in the opening series with the former scoring three quick kills in five minutes and 12 seconds of action to seal the 1-0 lead.
Lim changed his strategy in Game Two, opting for a fighter in Guinevere to go up against Cuntapay’s Vale. In dominant fashion, the Blazer managed to get back at the Red Lion with a score of 3-0 to send the series to a Game Three.
The former La Salle Green Hills guard bagged the series through a commanding X.Borg performance which saw him put up a 3-0 score in 16 minutes and eight seconds.
“Okay naman, grabe nung una kinabahan nga ako e. Sabi ko parang mali ata ‘tong ginagawa ko na nag retribution ako so sobrang delayed [ako]. Nung second game ang ginawa ko na lang is nag iba na lang ako, hindi na ako nag assassin, okay naman, masaya naman,” said the 6-foot guard from Manila.
Earlier in the day, Kai Oliva of Arellano University made quick work of Jan Marc Abaoag of Jose Rizal University.
Emilio Aguinaldo College’s Kyle Carlos dropped Lyceum of the Philippines’ Yancy Remulla via sweep last Sunday while Jasper Cuevas of Perpetual gutted out a 2-1 victory over San Sebastian’s Michael Are.
Fran Yu of Letran will take on Warren Bonifacio of Mapua on August 21 at 12:00 PM. Yu will then take on Abaoag later in the day.
