The Philippine Women’s National Football Team continued its preparations for its upcoming competitions with a 16-0 win over Tonga, Friday, at the Wanderers Football Park in Australia.
It is the Philippines’ biggest win, eclipsing the Filipinas’ 11-0 win over Macau in 2019.
Carleigh Frilles had a memorable afternoon as she scored five goals for the Filipinas at the 27th, 32nd, 49th, 58th, with her goal at the 36th minute coming from the penalty spot.
Cam Rodriguez and Hali Long then scored three goals each at the 22nd, 52nd, and 62nd minutes and the 16th, 35th, and 76th minutes respectively.
Anicka Castaneda added a brace at the 31st and 53rd minutes while Sofia Harrison and Tahnai Annis scored one goal each at the 11th and 89th minutes respectively.
One Tonga player scored an own goal at the 69th minute.
This is the third win for the Filipinas in their training camp in Australia. Beforehand, they beat Fiji in two matches with an aggregate score of 15-2.
The Filipinas look to carry this fine form as they shall compete in the upcoming 31st SEA Games in Vietnam next month, where they hope to earn a podium finish for the first time this century.
