Two Fil-foreign prospects have arrived just in time for the 2023 PBA Rookie Draft on Sunday.
Fil-Australian big man Cade Flores and former Tall Blacks pool member Richie Rodger arrived in Manila on Friday morning.
Flores, a 6-foot-5 one-and-done big man from Arellano University, couldn’t attend the draft combine earlier this week due to the need to finish a contract for a day job in his homeland.
The former Chief was last season’s Rookie of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year, with averages of 12.47 points, 10.07 rebounds, 1.93 assists, 1.67 steals, and 1.07 blocks per game.
Through his agency, Phenom Sports Management, Flores is set to have private workouts with teams on Friday and Saturday.
Meanwhile, Rodger, a 6-foot point guard, managed to submit the necessary paperwork for the draft, beating the deadline thanks to Marvin Espiritu of EMBM.
The 26-year-old played for NZ-NBL teams Taranaki and Otago over the past five years.
He was also part of the Tall Blacks pool for the first window of the FIBA World Cup Asian Qualifiers.
