Bryan Bagunas emphasized that the job is not yet done for Cignal after taking their first win in the 2024 Spikers’ Turf Open Conference round-robin semifinals.
The HD Spikers took care of business against No. 3 seed PGJC-Navy, grabbing a 25-16, 29-27, 25-22 victory.
They also take the early lead in the semifinals standings with a 1-0 card laced with three points.
“First game namin ‘to sa semis, malaking bagay ‘to na naging result is 3-0 nga.
The former TVL MVP was a man on a mission, dropping 21 points on 18 attacks, two aces, and one block. He also had seven excellent receptions to help Cignal fend off a hard-fighting Sealions side.
Bagunas said that the team, despite the sweep, still doesn’t feel satisfied with their performances. He shared that the team still has a lot left to improve ahead of their upcoming match against the D’Navigators on Friday.
“Di pa kami masyado satisfied sa naging outcome ng game namin kasi marami pa rin kaming pagkukulang, lalo na sa serve at receive namin, kailangan pa ma-improve,” said Bagunas.
Aware that the road will just get tougher after this win, Bagunas said that he is always ready to deliver whenever his number is called up. He vowed to support his teammates even further in their quest to retain the Open Conference crown.
