The Philippines dropped to 0-2 in Pool D and was officially eliminated from quarterfinal contention, as it can only earn a maximum of three points from its remaining match against Chinese Taipei on Tuesday.
It has been a difficult campaign for Alas Pilipinas, with financial struggles hounding the team from its preparations through the competition itself, leaving the players demoralized even before they stepped onto the court.
Still, the Filipinos managed to hold their own against regional powerhouses South Korea and China, keeping several sets competitive despite the challenges surrounding their campaign.
