National Team stalwart Bryan Bagunas has been left stranded in a hotel for the past week in a hotel as his swab test results have yet to arrive.
As part of the country’s preventive measures in its ongoing battle against the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, Overseas Filipino Workers are required to immediately undergo testing upon their arrival to the country. After the test, balikbayans will have to wait for their results before heading home.
But with the results delayed, more and more Filipinos are currently stranded in government-accredited hotels-turned-isolation facilities.
And one of them is Bagunas, who just came home from Japan last May 15.
The UAAP Season 81 MVP has been staying at B Hotel in Alabang and waiting for his results since his arrival.
“‘Yung sabi three to four days lalabas ‘yung result ng swab test at puwede na kami umuwi, kaso mag- seven days na wala pa ring update,” said Bagunas.
And the bills have been piling up.
According to the 22-year-old, he is being charged PHP 3,000 a night for his room. That is on top of the money he is spending on hotel food.
“Wala, ganon talaga. Wala naman ako magagawa kung hindi mag-wait lang talaga until na lumabas ‘yung results,” he lamented.
Bagunas, who currently plays for Oita Miyoshi Weisse Adler, is supposed to suit up in the Emperor’s Cup Volleyball Championship in Japan but flew back to the country after it was cancelled.
