Bryan Bagunas, Oita Miyoshi drop 25th game in V.League

Struggles are mounting once again for Filipino star Bryan Bagunas and his Oita Miyoshi.

This as Wolfdogs Nagoya gave Weisse Adler their fifth-straight loss in the form of a 25-22, 25-19, 25-18 beating in the 2020-21 Japan V.League Division 1 men’s tournament, Saturday at the Cycle Shop Kodama Osu Arena in Oita.

Bagunas led Oita anew with 16 points including two blocks. His attack efficiency was still on point, going 14-of-26, good for 53.8 percent.

Australian import Curtis Stockton was held to just seven markers as Weisse Adler slipped to 2-25.

League’s top scorer Bartosz Kurek had an all-around game with 23 points built on 19 spikes, two blocks, and two service aces.

Kenta Takanashi backstopped the Polish import with 14 markers of his own.

Nagoya improved its win-loss standing to 18-7.

Weisse Adler will have a shot at redemption against the Wolfdogs tomorrow, 1 pm, at the same venue.
