Bryan Bagunas displays efficiency as Oita Miyoshi drops to 0-18 in V.League

Even though Bryan Bagunas continues to rise to the occasion, Oita Miyoshi’s slide carries on, Sunday.

Weisse Adler went the distance but still yielded to Sakai, 23-25, 25-20, 25-14, 21-25, 12-15, in the 2020-21 Japan V.League Division 1 Men’s Tournament at the Konohana Arena.

Bagunas, 23, had a 21-point performance on an efficient attack rate of 20-of-32 – good for 62.5-percent.

But the supporting cast of Oita Miyoshi is still nowhere to be found, resulting in a season-long drought, with their record currently at 0-18.

Fellow import Curtis Stockton, the only other constant presence for the luckless squad, released 19 markers. Meanwhile, Kota Yamada had 15 points.

The Blazers were led anew by John Went, who had 22 points yesterday and another 22 tonight on 18 hits, three blocks, and an ace.

Yukiya Uno also provided big-time numbers with 17 markers, while Naoya Takano grabbed 14 as Sakai rose to 10-8.

Weisse Adler look to put an end to their misery when they face the league’s second top scorer Yuji Nishida and JTEKT on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2 pm, at the Cycle Shop Kodama Osu Arena in Oita.
