In the Van Sickle household, volleyball has always been more than a game — it’s a family tradition.
Now, that bond is about to define a new chapter for Petro Gazz.
The Angels announced Tuesday night that it has entrusted its bench to Gary and Lisa Van Sickle — proud parents of reigning All-Filipino Conference MVP Brooke Van Sickle — as their newest coaching tandem for the upcoming 2025 PVL Reinforced Conference.
“They nurtured greatness at home, and now they bring that same passion to the sidelines to guide our team to greater heights! The coaching tandem of the Van Sickles takes charge of the Angels,” the team said in a Facebook post.
“Here’s to a new era! Welcome, Coach Gary and Coach Lisa.”
Gary will serve as head coach, succeeding interim mentor Brian Esquibel, who took the reins following the departure of Japanese coach Koji Tsuzurabara during the PVL On Tour. Lisa, meanwhile, will join him as assistant coach.
Gary played for the University of Hawaiʻi from 1988 to 1990, while Lisa suited up for Hawaii Pacific University.
