Brandon Vera vows to keep bout vs Aung La N Sang out of judges’ hands

Brandon “The Truth” Vera guarantees that his match with two-division World Champion Aung La “The Burmese Python” N Sang will not reach the final bell.

The pair battle for the Burmese athlete’s ONE Light Heavyweight World Title in the main event of the historic ONE: Century Part II set on October 13 at the Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan.

The main event will be one of four World Championship Title bouts scheduled for the double-header.

“I’m not always going for the knockout. I’m just looking to finish the fight before the end of the fifth round.

“I do not ever want the judges deciding whether or not I’ve won or lost a bout,” the ONE Heavyweight World Champion said. “So one way or another, the fight has to finish.”

The outcome of the Alliance Training Center’s previous matches only supports Vera’s claims. The last four of his matches ended by knockout or technical knockout in the first round.

The 41-year-old Filipino-American star has not been taken out of the first round in all of his matches in ONE Championship. But “The Burmese Python” has also finished his last five opponents.

For Vera, what makes Aung La N Sang dangerous is the fact that he improves every time he enters the Circle.

“He gets better and better every event,” Vera said.

“He’s actually looking for holes. He’s trying to create set-ups now so he can touch you.”

While Vera prepares for the toughest challenge of his career, he sees holes in the game of the ever-evolving 34-year-old Burmese talent.

But he plans to keep them to himself until the big night.

“I do I see a couple [of things I can exploit] but you won’t hear it. I’m not telling you or anybody.”

ONE: CENTURY goes down at the famous Ryogoku Kokugikan in Tokyo, Japan on October 13.
