Brandon Vera throws down open challenge for ONE: Code of Honor

Brandon Vera made a bold announcement on Friday evening during ONE: Fire and Fury at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Prior to Eduard Folayang’s bout against Pieter Buist, the ONE Heavyweight World Champion announced that he will be defending his belt in the main event of ONE: Code of Honor on May 29 at the same venue.

And the 42-year-old Filipino-American is welcoming all challengers, vowing to defend the land.

“I will be defending our belt on May 29th at MOA Arena. We have people challenging me, thinking they will take our belt away,” he said.

Vera is currently 16-8-1 in his stellar 18-year career. However, he is coming off his first loss under the ONE banner, as Aung La N Sang was successful in defending his Light Heavyweight crown against him back in Century Part II.

Besides this, Vera is calling on every Filipino fighter to step up and fill that card.

“I’m calling every Filipino fighter to fight on the card and show that this is ours.”
