Blacklist International survived the late-game exploits of Renejay “Renejay” Barcarse and John Paul “H2wo” Salonga in Game Three to close out Nexplay Esports, 2-1, in the Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League-Philippines Season Seven, Saturday evening.
The men in black brought out another trick up their sleeves in Game Three, utilizing the Popol and Kupa and Diggie to collect the gold shield turrets early in the game.
That alone catapulted Blacklist International’s net worth to a 5k gold lead near the 10-minute mark.
But the constant cutting of Renejay’s Chou prolonged the match long enough for H2wo’s Lancelot to steal the lord in the 20:28-minute mark.
However, the Blacklist contingent was able to take down James “Jeymz” Gloria’s Benedetta, Tristan “Yawi” Cabrera’s Khufra, and Renejay to seal the win.
Edward “Edward” Dapadap’s Thamuz, who served as the sandbag for Blacklist, nabbed the SMART MVP award with five kills, three deaths, and 10 assists.
“Alam namin kung san kami nagkamali nung Game Two and minimal errors lang yun na kaya naming i-tama nung Game Three,” said Danerie “Wise” Del Rosario.
H2wo’s Ling wreaked havoc early in Game One, picking up three kills and two assists inside the seven-minute mark.
Wise’s Yi Sun-Shin continued to focus on objectives to scale up in time and carry the match late.
Johnmar “OhMyV33NUS” Villaluna’s Estes also proved to be pivotal in the turnaround, popping the Blessing of the Moon Goddess multiple times to save Wise.
OhMyV33NUS was named the SMART MVP with 10 assists and a kill against two deaths.
Nexplay Esports then ripped apart the Diggie feeding strategy of Blacklist International to stay alive in the series.
When the dust settled, H2wo — who had a fantastic Lancelot game — ended with 16 kills and seven assists without a single death.
The Tier One-backed squad, who ended the group stage with a league-best 11-1 record and 29 points, is the first team in Group B to secure a slot in the upper bracket playoffs.
On the other hand, Nexplay Esports will move to a tie with Execration at the second place with 18 points apiece through a 6-7 record.
Blacklist International will cap off the regular season against Kairi “Kairi” Rayosdelsol and ONIC PH tomorrow at 4:30 pm.
