Blacklist serves up revenge with reverse sweep over Aurora in MPL PH

By: Jan Marcus Montevirgen

Blacklist International avenged their earlier loss to Aurora in the first half of the regular season, achieving a thrilling reverse 2-1 sweep on Sunday at the Green Sun Hotel in Makati.

The decisive moment for the Codebreakers came when Edward “Edward” Dapadap (Chou) was taken down by Michael “MP the King” Endino (Bane) in the bottom lane, allowing them to easily secure the Lord objective.

With the Lord at their side, BLCK took down three members of Aurora during a skirmish, concluding the game at the 22-minute and 33-second mark. MP the King finished the match with an impressive KDA of nine kills, four deaths, and ten assists.

“Siguro yung feeling na talagang deserving kami na makapasok ng playoffs kase pangit yung mindset na nag-rely lang kami sa ibang team para lang makapasok,” said head coach Kristoffer “Bon Chan” Ricaplaza during the post-match interview.

“So para sa amin, kahit na no bearing yung match na ‘to, talagang gusto naming patunayan sa mga fans at sa ibang teams na deserving talaga kami makapasok. Ang saya talaga,” he continued.

Blacklist International struggled in the opener as Jonard “Demonkite” Caranto (Julian) proved too much to handle, finishing Game 1 with four kills, zero deaths, and four assists.

In the closely contested Game 2, lasting 22 minutes and 48 seconds, the two teams exchanged blows. However, the pivotal moment came when three members from Aurora were taken down, leaving Kenneth “Yue” Tadeo (Vexana) and Demonkite (Hayabusa) to defend.

As the regular season drew to a close, Blacklist International finished in sixth place with a 5-9 record, while Aurora secured fourth place with an 8-6 record.
