Benedict “Bennyqt” Gonzales has been reunited with his former teammate Tristan “Yawi Cabrera after being called up from TNC Pro Team’s MDL roster, the team announced through its official Facebook page.
In their previous stint under ECHO Philippines, the duo helped lead the “Orcas” to two MPL PH titles and a M-Series World championship, where Bennyqt was named as the Finals MVP after a masterful performance in their series against Blacklist International.
His latest appearance came in Season 14, where the recently acquired Team Liquid PH bowed out in a three-game sweep against Aurora Gaming in the tournament’s play-in phase.
Following this run, Bennyqt found himself in TNC’s bootcamp after his release from Team Liquid PH on February 14.
The 23-year old was initially assigned to TNC x Voltes PH in the MLBB Development League where he logged zero appearances through three weeks of action.
Throughout his MPL PH run, Bennyqt has played for various teams. He started his career with Execration in Season 5 before transferring to Aura Philippines in December 2020, helping Aura to finish third in the tournament.
After Aura PH rebranded to Echo Esports ahead of Season 8 and the addition of Yawi and Karl “Karltzy” Nepomuceno in the season after, Bennyqt began to solidify himself as one of the top gold-laners in the world of MLBB Esports.
Alongside Yawi, who also joined TNC after his stint with Team Liquid ID, BennyQT and the “Phoenix Army” will face Team Liquid PH on the opening day of Week 4.
Meanwhile, TLPH also shook up its roster ahead of the matchup as it sent Masayuki “YukTzy” Fujita to its MDL team in exchange for John “Perkziva” Sumawan.
Perkziva recently played as a roamer for Blacklist International, which finished in fourth-place in Season 14.
